Archives for posts with tag: winter

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified today on Capitol Hill in regards to the September 11 attack in Benghazi.  Her testimony was televised live on all of the news networks.  This means that it was basically about nothing except for a few soundbites the media could use later.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta will lift the ban on women serving on the front lines in a battle.  While many people question this decision, I applauded it.  An angry woman is not to be messed with and would end wars much sooner than their male counterparts.

All of the New York City news shows had extensive team coverage on the fact that it was a cold day in January.  The station meteorologists all predicted that it will be cold for the rest of the month.

It is a sad time to be a Republican.  It’s sad that the best Republican congressperson to be a Speaker is the current Speaker, John Boehner. Some Republicans seemed to understand the dilemma they had and tried to draft someone not currently in the House to be the new Speaker.  Contrary to what I thought, there is no law that says that a House Speaker has to be a House member.

I would say that it is cold in the northeastern United States, but that is not news.  It’s winter.  It’s supposed to be cold in the winter.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer but feel colder.

New Jersey governor Chris Christie lashed out at Congress yesterday for not getting a $40 billion relief package from Superstorm Sandy before adjourning before the new Congress took over today.  If governor Christie really wanted $40 billion, he should have claimed that everybody in New Jersey got mesothelioma and file a claim with that trust fund that always advertises on TV.

I don’t know if today was a slow news day or if I was really busy during the news.  This is all I have for now.
